Did you know that if you have a decent WIFI connection in your home or office you now have the ability to monitor & minimise your energy consumption by logging in to an app on your phone?
With CBI’s new ASTUTE RANGE you can be in charge of the monitoring, scheduling & general control of your devices with load management and home/office automation.
At this point, the range includes the :
– Astute Smart Plug (ASP)
– Astute Smart Isolator (ASI)
– Astute Smart Controller (ASC)
Sounds great – but which product should you start with?
1. Begin by knowing what you would like to control the most.
For example If you are looking to control your pool pump or geyser (which we know to be electricity guzzlers); you would be looking at the CBI Astute Smart Controller.
2. Download the CBI HOME APP on your phone and begin to control your pool pump or geyser. Remotely set timers, prepare for load shedding (if you are aware of the schedule) and react to current, voltage, time, power and many other energy variables that may be causing a spike in your electricity bill.
3. Monitor your energy consumption and make necessary tweaks where you can.
What else should you know?
- You can add other devices to your CBI Home App & the CBI Home App is also compatible with Smart Life or Tuya Smart Devices.
- The ASC (Astute Smart Controller) is strictly AC loads only, not for DC applications.
- There is a 12 month Warranty on the CBI ASC.
- The ASC can be mounted in a DIN rail board, simply remove the black escutcheon adaptor (see instruction leaflet) to fit a 45 mm panel.
- The ASC only has 1 switching channel- when you are wondering how many circuits you can connect to it. It can, however, connect multiple appliances, but will only switch as 1 unit. If for example a geyser and pool pump are connected to the same ASC, both will switch ON and OFF simultaneously. The CBI Home App can service multiple Astute devices. If you wish to control multiple devices independently, install multiple ASCs.
- A typical Wi-Fi connection needs to be within 20 meters of the Wi-Fi router. Thick walls and other obstacles might affect the range. Wi-Fi range extenders are commonly available from computer stores to extend your router’s coverage.
- Your technical Requirements for the Range to operate must include a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi with an internet connection, along with a Smartphone or Tablet.
